The 3rd GDUFS Forum on Applied Linguistics

 

 

The forum will be held on December 5-7, 2014by the National Key Research Centre for Linguistics & Applied Linguistics at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou , China . The forum invites proposals (maximum 500 words) for panels and presentations that address issues related to the umbrella theme SOCIETAL AND PUBLIC DISCOURSE, it welcomes original papers in English or Chinese from perspectives of discourse analysis, textual linguistics, systemic functional linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, etc.

 

Professor Christian M.I.M. Matthiessen, Professor Istvan Kecskes, Professor Vijay Kumar Bhatia, Professor Derek Bousfield, and Professor Dániel Kádár  will be invited for keynote speeches.

 

Individual presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposals for panels should include a chair and a number of thematically-related papers, each of which should be 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion.

 

All submissions must be sent to gw2014forum@126.com, with a title, an abstract, author’s name, affiliation(s), email address before August 30, 2014. They will be peer-reviewed in terms of originality and significance, and notification of acceptance will be sent by September 30, 2014. The organizing committee will plan the program as soon as it has selected the submissions. A selection of papers presented at the forum will be included in the proceeding book.

 

Registration fee: 800 RMB for all participants.
