Call for Papers
The 2025 GDUFS Forum on Applied Linguistics will be held on December 6-7, 2025, by the Center for Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), Guangzhou, P. R. China. The forum invites proposals of approximately 300 words in English or 500 characters in Chinese for panels and presentations that address issues in applied linguistics and second and foreign language education, with a special focus on language teaching and learning, materials, and teacher development, including but not limited to the following areas:
1. (The Digital Intelligence Era and) Foreign Language Learning
2. (The Digital Intelligence Era and) Foreign Language Textbooks
3. (The Digital Intelligence Era and) Foreign Language Teacher Development
4. Second Language Research
5. Research on Social and Public Discourse
6. Research on Theoretical Linguistics
The theme of the 2025 forum is “Foreign Language Learning, Materials, and Teacher Development in the Digital Intelligence Era.” Distinguished scholars in the field from around the world will be invited for keynote speeches.
Individual presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposals for panels should include a chair and a number of thematically related papers, each of which should be 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion.
All submissions, in either English or Chinese (or both), should be sent via https://www.wjx.cn/vm/eNfB6cN.aspx
with a title, abstract, presenter(s)’ names, affiliation(s), address(es), email, and phone number before September 15, 2025. Notification of acceptance will be sent via email in mid-October 2025. Paper presentations may be in either English or Chinese.
