The 4th GDUFS Forum on Applied Linguistics
Call for Papers
The 4th forumon Applied Linguistics will be held on December 3-4, 2016 by the National Key Research Centre for Linguistics & Applied Linguistics at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou, P. R. China. The forum invites proposals (maximum 500 words) for panels and presentations that address issues related to the second language studies. We welcome original papers from perspectives of second language theories, foreign language teaching and pedagogy, discourse analysis, language testing, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics, etc.
Professors Heidi Byrnes (George M. Roth distinguished professor at Georgetown University), Rod Ellis (distinguished professor at the University of Auckland), Ken Hyland (professor at the University of Hong Kong), and Chuming Wang (professor at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies) will give keynote speeches on topics including second language theories and L2 writing.
Individual presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposals for panels should include a chair and a number of thematically-related papers, each of which should be 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion.
All submissions must be sent to ALforum2016@163.com, with a title, anabstract, author’s name, affiliation(s), address, email, and phone number before July 30, 2016. Acceptance of proposal will be notified by email in mid September, 2016. A selection of papers presented at the forum will be published in the conference proceeding.
